Within the framework of our cooperation we process the orders issued by you on the basis of the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions.
As you are familiar with from the press (informed by the press) the German Insurance Association has requested a revision of the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions.
Due to these consequences and the evolving market situation, since 01.01.2003, in cooperation with the association of shippers and the forwarding industry, a revised version of the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions was adopted and implemented.
That means for you as a customer, that we will we process your orders according to the latest version of the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions.
The major alterations affect the cessation of the insurance automatism in damage insurance as well as the omission of minimum conditions for the freight forwarders liability insurance.
Within the framework of our business relationship so far it was common, that we have carried out the insurance for the goods handed over to us, except you have declared yourself as a waiver customer. Hence, in the future we would like to offer you the alternative, to provide transport insurance for your goods, regardless of whether you are a waiver customer or ‘Gebotskunde’.
This transport insurance offers you house-house coverage. A prerequisite is, however, that with every dispatching order you make complete indications about the shipment, i.e. invoice value of the goods, type of goods, type of packaging, labeling, contents and weight, dispatching location as well as desired destination and the address of the recipient.
Please consider that, with certain goods we can provide you with full coverage at higher premiums only and solely upon request.
With the German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions 2003, which furthermore is elaborated by associations of the forwarding industry and are recommended for usage.
